FALL NEWSLETTER 2011


Welcome back Ladies. I hope you all have had a beautiful, warm and dry summer and are ready to get back to working for the children.

 

Fez Bowling begins the new season at Polo Park Lanes on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM sharp. You do not have to be a good bowler to join this league as a regular bowler or a spare,  because lunch afterwards is more important. We are in desperate need of bowlers, so if you are interested in joining our league for some fun and camaraderie, contact Cathy Kabernick at 339-2830 or Irene Campbell at 832-5983.

 

Our first meeting in the Fall is on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Children’s Rehab Centre on Wellington Cresc. The Executive meet at 12:00 AM and the regular meeting starts at 1:30 PM. All members are welcome to attend the Executive meeting if you so desire.

On October 3, 2011, at our regular meeting we are hoping to have Dr. Susan Thompson speaking.

After the November 7th, 2011 meeting, we will draw the tickets for our annual raffle. Please get out and sell your tickets as the profits go to the children. All books of tickets should be returned to Darlene Borowski at least a week before the draw.

Our annual fund raiser of a “Bud, Spud & Steak” will be held on November 25th, 2011 at the Tijuana Yacht club in the Canad Inn, Empress St.

Please support this event, we have a lot of fun, food is great and wonderful prizes. Tickets are available from Cathy Kabernick at 339-2830 - $18.00 each.

 

Christmas luncheon and meeting will be held at the Khartum Shrine Centre 1155 Wilkes Ave. on Monday, December 5th, 2011. Please contact Darryl Gill at 885-6871 for tickets. Remember your pennies, door prizes or unwrapped gift for the Christmas Cheer Board.

 

January 16, 2012 will be the Installation of the new slate of Officers. We are looking for a Vice-President. This is a very rewarding position. If interested, please contact Past President Deanne Czanrecki at 253-4157.


The dinner and Horse Racing that was scheduled in October will be postponed until next year.

Along with this newsletter, we have enclosed a K.L.A. order form for Morden’s Chocolates and Nuts. This is a brand new fund-raising venture that we hope that you will enjoy and at the same time raise some money for our wonderful organization. Morden’s are high quality products made right here in Winnipeg and guaranteed fresh. Who doesn’t like to have chocolates and nuts in the house over the holidays. They also make a great last minute gift item. It’s simple – tell your family and friend about our Morden’s fund-raiser and then fill out the form to include their orders along with yours. Note: The cut-off date for Christmas orders is November 7, 2011. Your orders will be ready for pick-up at our December 5th. meeting and Christmas luncheon at Khartum Shrine House, 1155 Wilkes Ave.
